RISE with SAP is a suite of technologies and services designed to help SAP customers migrate to S/4HANA and/or the cloud, fostering digital transformation. This offering, launched in January 2021, includes various SAP products and services (Signavio, Ariba, BTP, etc.) and requires the involvement of a certified partner. Additionally, the project and services are governed by highly structured and strict practices and methodologies, as detailed in the article “SAP in Native Cloud or RISE with SAP?”
Some clients in Latin America have already adopted this new framework, which includes, among other things, hosting and basic operation of SAP S/4HANA in the cloud of one of the three major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
What does RISE with SAP include, and what does it not?
While the RISE service covers much of what is needed to operate the solution, SAP clearly specifies that certain responsibilities remain with the customer. RISE’s operations are standardized and automated to achieve significant economies of scale. Therefore, for anything beyond the standard, the customer must take the initiative and make specific requests to SAP ECS (Enterprise Cloud Services).
Moreover, SAP’s customer service is not directed toward end-users but rather an expert intermediary. This intermediary must understand how to interact with SAP, provide detailed technical information, participate in specialized meetings, and understand the established practices for this service. In general, the ideal profile for this role is a Basis Technical Consultant.
How to address the needs not covered by RISE with SAP?
At Novis, we have developed a specialized version of our well-known SAP AMS Service tailored for this scenario. Based on our experience with clients already operating in this mode or transitioning to it, we have designed this new service: SAP AMS for RISE, which assigns each company a professional, either partially or fully dedicated, with the necessary practices to interact with SAP’s RISE service. Additionally, as with all Novis SAP AMS services, the client has access to a management methodology and proprietary tools.
If additional SAP technical or functional services are needed, these components can be combined and integrated into a single service, with comprehensive management and a unified contract, among other benefits.

Novis Services: One Contract, One Point of Responsibility
One of the key advantages of Novis’ offering lies in its status as a major partner of the three leading hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, and GCP) working with RISE. Novis has extensive experience in deploying and operating services in the public cloud. This expertise enables it to streamline the operation of the SAP solution in the cloud while also complementing it with the management of non-SAP solutions or services that the client may have on the same or another cloud platform.
