Novis SAP AMS Service for SAP Cloud Platform

This new variant of our well-known SAP AMS service, certified by SAP, meets the management requirements of SAP customers subscribed to SAP Cloud Platform (SCP).

Many SAP clients are already subscribed to the services provided by SAP Cloud Platform (SCP). Some have just started, using only simple services such as SAP Fiori Cloud. Others however are already using several of SCP’s capabilities to develop and operate applications on this cloud.

SCP provides services for the development and operation of cloud applications. These applications will normally be integrated with on-premises SAP systems or other systems. According to SAP’s definition, to use SCP services clients need a development team and a management team.

The development team usually uses DevOps methodologies, which means it is responsible for the development and operation of applications, jointly with the business users, in an agile development cycle (Agile Methodology). The management team, on the other hand, is responsible for the technical configuration of the client’s SCP environments, the operation of integrations and, in some cases, the management of accounts and users.

Since most SAP clients outsource the hosting and technical operation services of their SAP systems, when starting to use SCP they are in a situation where they do not have the necessary support to manage the services. They do not have the required staff in-house, and their hosting or technical SAP (Basis) operation provider does not have the required knowledge to deliver this service.

To meet this demand, at Novis we have developed a variant of our SAP AMS service (Application Management Services) especially for SCP management, the SAP AMS for SCP service.

This remote service covers the management tasks of the SCP’s capabilities that a client uses, including:

  • Basic management
  • Technical configurations
  • Integrations monitoring and alerts management
  • Accounts and user management (optional)
  • Developers’ requests fulfillment
  • ITIL processes and functions (service desk, incident, requests, problems, and change management
  • Service management

The service is based on out SAP AMS model, which is certified by SAP, and is in operation for more than 80 clients.

The service for each client is defined according to the scope of the capabilities in use, the implemented integrations, and the service components included.

This Novis service may be deployed in a short period of time, especially for a client who is just starting to use SCP. Once operating with this service, the client can fully concentrate its resources and efforts on application development and their optimal operation, without management details obstructing the agility of their developments.
